Clearing pigeons out of a contaminated mechanical workshop

Bird control at the UCL Company sugar mill in Dalton, by BCS Bird Control Services

The challenge

Pigeons had colonised the mechanical workshop, contaminating workbenches, gearboxes and motors with droppings. Beyond the hygiene risk, the fouling affected the cleanliness of workpieces and bearings, precision components that cannot tolerate contamination, and the working conditions were hurting staff morale.

Our approach

BCS bird-proofed the workshop to remove the roosting habitat, delivering the work with what the client describes as professionalism, efficiency and expertise, and a process that was seamless from start to finish.

The result

There are no birds or bird droppings left in the workshop. The client reports greatly improved hygiene standards and working conditions, and is now implementing BCS bird proofing at other locations across the factory, the strongest endorsement a first project can earn.

“Since engaging BCS, the results have been outstanding, there are no birds or bird droppings left in our workshop. The transformation of the workspace has greatly improved hygiene standards and overall working conditions.”
